The following have been taken from Suzukichat.
NOW I love it when kids don't bring their books since we can do the whole
lesson with our EARS.
Jane Jackson
Frankly, I really don't see "forgotten" music as a problem, or even as
my problem. I see it as the parent's problem. The parent is the one
who is supposed to supervise the kids. I don't feel that it is my
responsibility to teach the kids all their life lessons all at once.
For one thing, I (almost) always have extra copies of the music. For
another, I may put the kid on the computer theory program (not usually)
or do all kinds of creative activities that are harder than what they
are working on. Somehow that motivates them to remember their music -
they don't usually want to work so hard again! :^)
Music lessons should be a pleasant time, not a time to get scolded.
